TranSwap Hosts First Beach Clean-up Event as Part of its CSR Efforts

TranSwap last weekend organised a fun-filled beach clean-up event, as part of its efforts to build stronger ties within the community and refine the coastal ecosystem. Themed "Beach Heroes", TranSwap aims to encourage the community to adopt environmentally conscious efforts and choices, and champion sustainability as a way of life.

Held at East Coast Park, the event brought together over 30 volunteers who strictly adhered to community safety management measurements of gathering in groups of 8 or less at any time. The invitation to participate in the clean-up was extended to both employees as well as customers to broaden their understanding of the impact of climate change and the extent of responsibility associated with the daily waste of plastics. TranSwap is also dedicated to stimulating the use of digitalisation to minimalize waste accumulated by single-use products.

At the end of the event, TranSwap presented each volunteer a TranSwap cap and a reusable cutlery set in hopes to discourage the use of plastics and for TranSwap employees and customers to inculcate a "Reuse" culture and "Reduce" dependency on single use plastics.

TranSwap has consistently been dedicated to engaging its community. In 2020, in efforts to assist foreign domestic workers faced with travel restrictions due to COVID-19, they launched an e-remittance service for employers to help foreign domestic workers digitally send money back to their families. This year, they intend to broaden their involvement with the community by incorporating environmentally friendly policies to increase sustainability efforts in order to contribute to a healthy coastal ecosystem that locals will strive to honour and preserve.

Commenting on TranSwap’s CSR efforts, Mr. Benjamin Wong, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of TranSwap, added, "TranSwap has always taken pride in its long-standing commitment to the community and its efforts to champion causes that impact diverse populations differently. East Coast Park holds special memories for many, including myself. I am grateful to my staff and clients alike to align themselves with our environmental efforts to do their part in keeping the beaches clean for future generations to enjoy".
